FOOD

Arsicault Bakery

37° 47.012' N 122° 27.891' W

The line is long, yes. But the croissant is shatteringly crisp and buttery enough to make you forget the wait. Get the almond one.

Swan Oyster Depot

37° 47.345' N 122° 25.432' W

Cash only, counter seating, and seafood that tastes like the ocean just woke up. The crab back is a non-negotiable order.

La Taqueria

37° 45.123' N 122° 25.111' W

No rice in the burrito. Just meat, beans, cheese, and salsa. It’s controversial to some, but perfect to me.

2

COFFEE

The Mill

37° 46.567' N 122° 26.345' W

Four Barrel coffee and thick slices of Josey Baker Bread. The cinnamon sugar toast is childhood nostalgia elevated to art.

Sightglass

37° 46.678' N 122° 24.567' W

The SoMa flagship is a cathedral of coffee. Industrial, loud, and smelling of roasting beans. A good place to get work done.

Andytown

37° 45.234' N 122° 30.456' W

Get the Snowy Plover. It’s espresso, sparkling water, and whipped cream. Sounds weird, tastes like a foggy beach day.

3

VIEWS

Grandview Park

37° 45.456' N 122° 28.234' W

Forget Twin Peaks. This spot (locals call it Turtle Hill) has sweeping views of the sunset and the ocean without the tour buses.

16th Ave Tiled Steps

37° 45.345' N 122° 28.123' W

A community mosaic project that turns a steep climb into a sea-to-stars journey. Beautiful, quiet, and a serious workout.

4

QUIRKY

Musée Mécanique

37° 48.567' N 122° 25.012' W

Antique penny arcade machines that actually work. Creepy, charming, and totally free to enter. Bring quarters.

Wave Organ

37° 48.456' N 122° 26.567' W

A sculpture that makes music from the tides. It’s best at high tide, sitting out on the jetty listening to the bay gurgle.

5

SHOPPING

Green Apple Books

37° 46.890' N 122° 28.012' W

A dusty, sprawling maze of new and used books. You can get lost here for hours and come out smelling like old paper.

Heath Ceramics

37° 45.789' N 122° 24.890' W

Beautiful, functional pottery made right there in the factory. Expensive, but even just looking feels calming.
