Tax advisory is a trust business. Most websites in this category still feel generic.

Sami Tax Consultants practice has been running since 1982, with 280+ matters, 185+ tribunal wins, and high-stakes outcomes at enterprise scale. The site needed to present that credibility without noise.

So why should their digital presence feel like a 2009 WordPress template?

The brief from the founder was direct: Serious, clear, and grounded. No visual drama.

I started on the homepage by leading with a raw, hard number instead of a soft promise.

Sami Tax Consultants homepage
homepage hero centered on a verifiable outcome (₹23.8 Cr tax liability reduced), supported by practice tenure and tribunal count. specific numbers build trust faster than any generic copy.

That single decision shaped the rest of the project: Specifics first, Embellishment last.

visual languagePermalink

The visual system uses restrained contrast, serif-led hierarchy, and measured gold accents & leather textures to communicate premium positioning without looking ornamental.

video poster
cta motion study... subtle hover response & clear directional language (’Discuss Strategy’) to maintain a high-trust tone.

Micro-interactions were intentionally quiet so the content remains the center of attention.

service architecturePermalink

The service layer needed to cover broad tax depth while staying scannable for senior decision-makers. I split 12 offerings into four filters: Direct Taxes, GST & Indirect, Customs & Trade, and Strategic Advisory.

video poster
filterable service grid with numbered cards, domain tags, and category switching to reduce decision friction.

Each card pairs a plain-language summary with specific intervention areas so prospects can find their fit quickly.

case evidence systemPermalink

Instead of testimonials, we designed a case-file format. Visitors can move through real engagement narratives with situation assessment, strategic intervention, and documented outcomes.

video poster
interactive case-file interface showing auditable outcomes (for ex: annual savings, ETR reduction, and penalty avoidance).

This framing shifts the conversation from “claims” to “records.”

The About page then reinforces that posture with founder credibility and practice philosophy in one screen.

About page with positioning language
about page combining founder portrait, credentials, strategic principles, and a long-form quote to establish practitioner authority

Together, the Case Studies and About section establish both proof and voice.

consultation flowPermalink

My favourite section on the entire site ended up being the scheduling experience. It’s built as formal correspondence, not a generic lead form. That tone better matches the service relationship clients expect.

Schedule consultation page
split-layout intake page: practice context on the left, structured correspondence form on the right with entity and advisory qualifiers.

“Dear Sami Tax Consultants,” with today’s date auto-filled, structured fields, a signature line, and “Respectfully yours” at the bottom. The signature auto-populates from the name field. Small detail, but it sets the tone for the relationship from the first interaction.

video poster
end-to-end consultation flow from empty state to completed submission, including contextual fields and signature behavior.

After submission, I avoided a dead-end state, provided explicit what’s next & a personal touch from the founder: “I personally review every inquiry.”

Post-submission confirmation card
post-submit confirmation card with three-step timeline (review, respond, consult) and founder attestation... which isn’t just a promise, it’s built into every interaction.

That confirmation layer keeps momentum and reduces uncertainty after contact.

advisory content depthPermalink

The custom FAQ section for each service was designed as strategic guidance, not filler content. Answers include practical ranges, eligibility cues, and engagement models.

video poster
expanded FAQ states with detailed advisory answers (GST savings ranges, composition-fit checks, and CA collaboration models).

This helps users evaluate fit before they book a consultation & gives them a sense of the practice’s depth & expertise.

mobile responsivenessPermalink

Mobile layouts preserve hierarchy and trust cues from desktop while simplifying navigation and tap paths. Navigation collapses to hamburger. Service cards stack vertically. The schedule sidebar becomes a full-width hero header on mobile.

Mobile page set
mobile views across home, menu/services, and case studies with maintained typography scale, STC monogram, contrast, and action clarity.

The result is a consistent experience across devices without losing the premium tone.

Stack: Next.js, Tailwind CSS 4, Framer Motion.

Design tone: Premium but restrained. Serif-led hierarchy, warm neutrals, and controlled gold accents & leather textures were used to signal confidence without visual excess.

Layout language: We translated office artifacts into digital structure. Formal Correspondence Flow, Case-file Navigation, Attestation Cues, Signature Moments, and Advisory Cards that read like working documents.

Experience principle: Keep high-stakes information calm and legible. Every screen was designed to reduce ambiguity while preserving a premium, practitioner-led voice that includes real tax calculation examples (e.g., salary restructuring showing ₹6.4L savings on a ₹1 Cr package) as educational content that converts.

Performance: Optimized images, static generation for all content pages, edge deployment via Vercel. Lighthouse scores consistently 95+ across all metrics.

Timeline: 6 weeks from discovery to launch.

resultPermalink

Three weeks after launch, the founder said: “The phone hasn’t stopped ringing since the website went live.”

The site went live and the response was immediate.

  • 3x more consultation requests in the first month. But more importantly… better quality leads. Prospects were arriving pre-qualified because they’d actually read the case studies.
  • Google Analytics’s Avg. session duration was 4+ minutes. People were reading, not bouncing. The comparison section (“VS Big 4 Firms” / “VS Local CA Firms”) turned out to be the most-viewed section after the hero.
  • Best feedback came from a senior executive on the first consultation call: “This is the first tax consultancy website that made me feel like you actually know what you’re doing.”

Founder just smiled. “I told you. Let the design speak the works.”

The outcome was a clearer digital expression of a serious practice, built to convert trust into conversations.

What kept this project honest was simple… it started with real case files on a desk, not a polished design brief—the same grounding I describe in Informal Design System.
